Techniques:  Foldforming, Broom casting

As I was going through the straw picking out the cast pieces, this piece reminded me of the veins of precious metals I saw when visiting the mines of South Africa. I tried to duplicate the feeling of seeing veins of precious metals (mostly gold) peeking out from the dark earth (brass).  I attached it to a love knot (chainmaille weave) as a thank you to the individuals who worked hard in very rough conditions to enable us to adorn ourselves with beautiful creations.

Brass represents the natural goodness of Nature and is believed to attract health and wealth. It is known for its healing properties: it is believed to boost the immune system and to give courage.
Silver is believed to mirror one's soul.
