Interconnections (Cuff - b01)
Materials: Brass, copper, silver
Techniques: Marriage of metals
I enjoy working with marriage of metals because it reminds me that by combining different metals with different characteristics, the output is beautifully individual yet holistic - the sum is definitely greater than the parts.
I made this piece following a conversation with friends from different parts of the world as well as different backgrounds. As an individual, we may belong to different communities (marriage of metals components). Yet by belonging to different communities, we do bring them together, building bridges to bring these communities together.
Brass is known for its healing properties: it is believed to boost the immune system and to give courage. Similarly, copper and silver are also believed to be healing metals. Additionally, copper is also known as the lucky metal.
Given the nature of handmade jewelry, no two pieces will look exactly alike.
